Tourist attractions
Due to Salisbury's excellent position in the south it is within just a short drive to most of the south of England's historical sites.
It is even possible to visit London for the day, either by train or car the journey is around one and a half hours.
You can also visit a traditional English market on Tuesday's and Saturdays in Salisbury City centre.

Salisbury Cathedral
Salisbury Cathedral

Salisbury cathedral is one of Britain's best loved and most beautifully religious sites. It is also one of Britain's tallest monuments standing at 404ft. built to replace the original cathedral on top of Fort Old Sarum. Its beauty and size were meant as a lasting testimonial to God.

Stonehenge Stonehenge

Stonehenge is one of the oldest megalithic sites in Britain is also the most impressive. Built almost 4000 years ago the methods used in its construction still baffle scientist and historians today. Steeped in mystery and legend the stone circle will probably still remain a mystery for years to come.

Old Sarum Old Sarum

A large fort situated around a mile from Salisbury. Although most of the fort has been destroyed over time, the remains of an early stone castle can still be visited, who occupants included the Romans and the Normans. It is also possible to see the remains of the first Cathedral of Salisbury.

Wilton House Wilton House

Home of the 17th Earl of Pembroke, Wilton House provides a fascinating and relaxing day out. The Visitor Centre with its award winning film, Victorian Laundry and Tudor Kitchen allows you to step back in time and will guide you through centuries of history and the lives of some of the house's inhabitants.

Bath City Bath

During your stay you could visit the historical city of bath. The city is predominantly Georgian in design and boasts beautiful churches and good shopping. You can also visit of the finest Roman Baths ever built.
